Holtec International is pleased to announce the signing of a contract with Ukraine’s government owned nuclear utility, “ENERGOATOM”, to establish a state-of-the-art central storage facility for the used nuclear fuel produced by the country’s VVER reactors.
The Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant (ChNPP) is sponsoring a study funded by the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to utilize Holtec’s Forced Helium Dehydration (FHD) technology to dry the RBMK spent fuel from the three idled (undamaged) Chernobyl reactors.
We are pleased to announce that Energoatom, Ukraine’s National Atomic Energy Generating Company, has selected Holtec International to build the country’s Central Spent Fuel Storage Facility for long-term dry storage of the commercial spent fuel produced by its fleet of VVER reactors.
