The UK Government has awarded Holtec Britain £30 million of grant funding from the Future Nuclear Enabling Fund for Holtec to complete Steps 1 and 2 of the Generic Design Assessment (GDA) as the first step towards UK deployment of our Small Modular Reactor SMR-300.
Buoyed by the State of Michigan’s commitment to expand in-state carbon-free generation as well as by the broad-based federal, state, and community support for repowering the Palisades Nuclear Power Plant, we have started the program to build our first two SMR-300 reactor units at the Palisades site.
Holtec delivered this project on a turnkey basis with able support from the plant operator Nuklearna elektarna Krško (NEK).
Holtec International announces the re-organization of its executive team for the new nuclear generation program to accord with its changing imperatives.
HI-LIFT provides a proven solution to overcome the limitation in the civil/structural load bearing capacity of many nuclear power plants built in the 1960s and 70s when heavy casks, used universally in dry storage projects, did not exist.
We are pleased to announce the development of a highly efficient system to coax a continuous or on-demand supply of electric power from the sun eliminating the intermittency that has forever hobbled solar plants. This success stands on conjugating two of Holtec International’s recent major innovations, HI-THERM CSP and the Green Boiler.
We are pleased to report that Korea’s two premier national financial institutions - K-SURE and KEXIM - have each entered into agreements with the Holtec International (Holtec)/Hyundai Engineering & Construction (Hyundai E&C) team to provide financial backing to SMR-160 projects around the world.
