The Nuclear Power Division (NPD) is Holtec International’s second largest subsidiary after the Holtec Manufacturing Division (HMD). NPD is principally engaged in providing all necessary engineered systems and equipment and associated services to store used nuclear fuel of commercial or defense origin and High Level Waste in wet or dry storage. NPD implements Holtec’s business strategy of insuring utmost quality, safety, and client satisfaction through a vertically integrated supply of goods and services. NPD possesses all necessary technical resources to complete a turnkey project with the manufacturing carried out by its sister division HMD.

The great bulk of NPD’s business activity is concentrated in the following three areas:
- Dry storage and transport of used nuclear fuel
- Wet storage of used nuclear fuel
- Design and analysis of complex systems, structures, and components (SSCs)
The development of the SMR-300 small modular reactor is being carried out under a separate subsidiary called SMR, LLC.
