Holtec Palisades in Covert, Michigan, is blazing a trail never before experienced in the global nuclear power industry. This 800-megawatt facility, shut down in May 2022 with plans for decommissioning, is being prepared for a new life. Thanks to a groundswell of support from the State of Michigan and the US Department of Energy, Holtec International, the plant owner, plans to repower the facility.
