Abstract: Governing equations for heat transfer in a split flow heal exchanger with four tube passes are derviecl. Using lheso equations, curves for Logarithmic Mean Temperature Difference correction factor, and temperature e!ficiency, heretofore unavailable in the literature, are presented. Study of salient characteristics of the heal transfer process in a typical example problem points to possible strategies for optimization of the split flow geometry for increased heat transfer.
