Dr. Debabrata (Debu) Mitra-Majumdar is the Interim president of Holtec Asia and President of the Heat Transfer Division (HTD). Holtec Asia has two large technology centers in Pune and a modern manufacturing plant in Dahej, Gujarat. HTD division is responsible for engineering/design/manufacturing of heat transfer equipment worldwide. In these positions, he has full profit and loss responsibilities for Holtec Asia and the HTD division.
Dr. Mitra-Majumdar received his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Jadavpur University (India) in 1989 and his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University in 1997. He is a leading thermal-hydraulicist in the field of gravity actuated flows and two-phase flow regimes and is credited with introducing modern computational fluid dynamics techniques to the dry and wet storage industry in the United States in the 1990s.
Dr. Mitra-Majumdar has played an important role in the licensing of Holtec’s fuel management systems in the US and abroad since 2000. He also continues in his role as the Vice-President, Engineering Analysis, responsible for the engineering/design activities of the CED division, whose associates are in multiple worldwide offices of Holtec International. Dr. Mitra-Majumdar is also an affiliate member of Holtec’s Executive Committee.
