James Swart
Security Manager, Indian Point Energy Center, Holtec Security International
James Swart is the security manager of Indian Point Energy Center. In this role, Swart oversees security operations at the site, protecting it against incoming threats, and preventing and responding to sabotage of plant safety systems and nuclear material.
In addition, Swart coordinates with site leadership to provide security support during the decommissioning of the facility, and acts as a liaison between the site and local law enforcement.
Professional History
Swart has nearly 20 years of experience working in nuclear security in supervisory roles. During his time at Indian Point, Swart served as nuclear security officer, alarm station operator response team leader, security firearms instructor, lead controller for security exercises and security operations supervisor.
In addition, Swart served four years in the United States Marine Corps as a non-commissioned officer, in both the infantry and security forces conducting anti-terrorism and other operations vital to national security overseas. While assigned to security forces, Swart held a secret security clearance.

Swart has assisted multiple sites during his career with both support and benchmarking for best practices.
Education
Swart attended Ulster County Community College for chemical dependency counseling and history. During his time in the Marine Corps, he attended multiple schools for leadership, close quarters battle, anti and counter terrorism, and explosives and demolition.
