Brian McWilliams
Security Manager, Pilgrim, Holtec Security International
Brian McWilliams is the security manager at Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station. In this role, McWilliams is responsible for ensuring the safety, security and regulatory compliance of this shutdown nuclear power plant and its Interim Spent Fuel Storage Facility (ISFSI). He has worked on numerous projects within Holtec’s decommissioning fleet and supports the company’s ever-expanding portfolio of security contracts.
Professional History
McWilliams brings over 20 years of combined security and combat training experience. He served in the US Army as a drill sergeant and senior non-commissioned officer. Every year, he was responsible for individual training, supervision, and development of 240 initial entry training soldiers. For nearly a decade, McWilliams continued to serve our country as a senior drill sergeant for the US Army Reserve.
After returning home from supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2008, McWilliams embarked on a career in nuclear security as an armed security officer at Pilgrim. He was called upon again to support Operation Enduring Freedom as a drill sergeant. While continuing to serve, he steadily rose through the ranks and became the security manager. McWilliams is proud to lead the Pilgrim team with the same dedication and passion he instilled in new soldiers.
Education
McWilliams is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree from Southern New Hampshire University in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Homeland Security/Counterterrorism.
