As more utilities opt to focus solely on their core business, primarily power generation, Holtec’s Site Services Division is increasingly utilized to manage the full scope of the spent fuel storage projects to free utility resources. Holtec’s goal is to help its clients solve their most challenging problems through innovative thinking, practical engineering, advanced fabrication processes, and experienced site implementation teams. Holtec strives toward this goal with an attitude of continuous improvement, leveraging in-house expertise in technical and licensing services, material development, manufacturing, and site construction services to provide integrated products and services, often on a turnkey basis. Site services rendered by Holtec International fall under three categories:
As the installer of our own dry spent fuel storage equipment, Holtec consistently capitalizes on its institutional, in-depth design know-how to refine the site services processes, ancillary equipment design and the configuration of dose mitigation devices, as well as the “human factor” aspects of handling equipment to reduce the occupational dose to the installation crew.
Holtec has performed spent fuel storage rack removal and installation services for more than 100 spent fuel pools since the company’s beginning in 1986.
Holtec’s experts stand ready to engage in complicated, multi-disciplinary projects and successfully manage the project from conception to completion.
