Engineering & Consulting Services

Holtec’s principal mission is to provide design, engineering and consulting services to the world’s electric power industry. Although most of Holtec’s business is derived from the electric power generation industry, the organization is fully equipped to render services to industries as diverse as defense, aviation, chemical, or pharmaceutical.


Holtec International and the Eddy Lea Energy Alliance have partnered to establish an underground consolidated interim storage facility in southeastern New Mexico. The storage facility will store the canisters bearing the fuel underground and will be designed for a 100 year service life with unrestricted capability to retrieve and move the canisters at any time during the facility’s service life.

Holtec possess in-house capabilities to design, engineer, analyze, fabricate, construct, and deploy virtually any system, structure or component for our clients no longer wish to procure from the original OEM. Holtec is also versed in enhancing existing SSCs equipment supplied by another vendor that is now an obsolete technology. Holtec has the capability to perform custom fabrication on a 24/7 basis ensuring we meet even the most challenging schedule.

Holtec strives toward this goal with an attitude of continuous improvement, leveraging in-house expertise in technical and licensing services, material development, manufacturing, and site construction services to provide integrated products and services, often on a turnkey basis.


Holtec’s Small Modular Reactor

SMR-160 is a passive, intrinsically safe, secure and economical small modular reactor that has the flexibility to be used in remote locations, in areas with limited water supplies or land, and in unique industrial applications where traditional larger reactors are not practical. SMR-160 is walk away safe and can be sited next to population centers without any threat to the local environment or populace.
