We are delighted to welcome Bill Levis as Holtec’s President and COO starting in early October 2017. Dr. Kris Singh, who currently holds both the position of CEO and President will relinquish the President’s position in favor of Mr. Levis.
“Holtec’s increasingly complex business undertakings, expanding product lines and a growing global footprint require a full-time President. With decades of executive management experience, a sterling professional reputation in the industry and a proven track record as a business leader, Bill is eminently equipped to lead our company to even greater heights. We are excited about having him as one of our own,” says Dr. Singh.
Mr. Levis is retiring from PSEG Power as its President and Chief Operating Officer after a ten-year tenure marked by operational renaissance and successful cost containment campaigns. PSEG Power is a major, unregulated independent power producer in the US with four main subsidiaries: PSEG Nuclear, PSEG Fossil, PSEG Energy Resources and Trade (ER&T) and PSEG Power Ventures.
Before joining PSEG, Mr. Levis was Vice President-Mid-Atlantic Operations for Exelon Nuclear. Prior to joining Exelon, Mr. Levis worked at Ontario Hydro’s Pickering Plant and held several positions over a five-year period with Carolina Power and Light’s Brunswick facility.
Mr. Levis has a Bachelor of Science in marine engineering (with distinction) from the U.S. Naval Academy. He retired as a commander in the Naval Reserves and received his professional engineer’s license in 1985.
Mr. Levis is a member of the Executive Committee of Nuclear Energy Institute’s (NEI) Board of Directors, the Nuclear Electric Insurance Limited (NEIL) Board of Directors, serves as Executive sponsor for the nuclear industry DNP Initiative, and serves as a member of the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO) National Nuclear Accrediting Board. He is a member of the Philadelphia Archdiocese Catholic Charities Appeals Board and is a member of the CEO Council for Growth based in Philadelphia. Mr. Levis has a long business nexus with Holtec, having served as the Chair of the Holtec Advisory Council (a group of prominent nuclear experts in the industry) since 2012.
