Founded in 1877, the Engineers’ Club of Philadelphia is the nation’s oldest of its kind. The Club serves as the center for coalescing various engineering disciplines in the Philadelphia region. Its mission is to cultivate “the professional improvement of its members,” encourage “social intercourse among men of practical science,” and promote “the advancement of engineering in its several branches.”

Over the decades, the Club has served as the focal point for technical advances with distinguished members such as Thomas A. Edison, Herbert Hoover, and David Sarnoff in its membership rolls. The American Society for Testing of Materials (ASTM) and the Franklin Institute, both national institutions based in Philadelphia, have been heavily influenced by the Club and its membership going back to the early 1900s.

Upon receiving the Medal, Dr. Singh congratulated the Company’s associates spread over six operation centers in the US, Europe, and Asia, writing in a message: “Any recognition that the world bestows on me is directly due to the tireless efforts by our people to meet our goals and uphold our reputation. Let us be clear: I receive such honors on behalf of all of you. Holtec’s standing as a world class company has been a work in progress for many years in which every one of you has played a part. Our successes are and will continue to be an outcome of our collective exertions. Team Holtec is winning accolades on the world stage and every single one of us deserves a piece of the credit.”
